Since this forum is so new to everyone, I just wanted to touch on a few things I have learned about it.
1) Two ways to post images.
One is the Attach Files at the bottom of your start discussion form. This will post photos that aren't anywhere on the internet by saving them in our memory banks. We have a limited memory space so only use this option if you cannot have the images "hosted" on the internet by another photo-share program.
The second is to use the little icon (6th icon on the bar above where you type your message). This will prompt you to type in the internet address where your photo is stored. For those that have photo store programs or have already uploaded your image(s) to your own website, please use this feature.
2) Anyone can start a new discussion. Just click on any one of the Start Discussion buttons. The forum is open to discuss anything and everything regarding Kigers. All I ask is that you keep it civil. No name calling or putting down another one's horse, etc.
Above the message window where you type your message, you'll find a shaded gray bar. In this bar are 5 "buttons".
First is B. This is to add bold to your words. It will place a "angle b" and an "angle backslash b". Any word placed between those html tags will be bold. So, you will have to cut and past them around the word you want to make bold.bold
Second is I. This is to add italics to your words. It will place an "angle i" and an "angle backslash i". Any word placed between those html tags will be italicized. italicized
Third is U with a bar under it. This is to underline your words. It will place an "angle u" and an angle backslash u". Any word placed between those html tags will be underlined. underlined
The Forth is S with a bar through it. This is a slash line. It will place an "angle s" and an "angle backslash s". Any word placed between those html tags will be slashed. slashed
The fifth buttom is a link of a chain. This is a website link. First highlight the word that you want linked to a website. Then once it is highlighted, click on the link button, another window pops up and asks for the http:// address of the website. This makes an active link in your message.
The last button is a picture (blue and green image). This inserts an image into your message. By clicking on it, another window pops up and asks for the http:// address of the image that is already hosted somewhere online. Use this for posting images that are already hosted by your image sharing software (imageshack, picoodle, tinypic, photobucket, webshots, etc.) By typing in the address for the image, it places the image in your message.
At the top of every page is the photo of running wild kigers....okay mostly just their ears and some of their heads (working on that). Anway, you will find navigation buttons: Main, Invite, My Page, Members, Forum, Groups, Photos.
By clicking on Main, you will see the latest info. The latest activity is display at the top center. See whom has been busy chatting, any new topics, etc. Also on Main page is the Members on the left side, shows who are members, who is currently online (shown by a green online). If you scroll down on Main you will see the current forum topics that are being discussed. Further down you'll see the community photo album. Also on Main page is the Groups listing on the left under members showing you which groups are available for specific discussion.
By clicking on Invite you can invite your friends to join the site. We welcome everyone and anyone.
By clicking on My Page, you can see what your personal page looks like. Here you can change your avatar photo or even the theme/color of your page for a personalized look (on left side). In the center, you will find your recent activity on the site. Below that is the comment wall, where anyone can leave a comment for you.
By clicking on Members, you can see who is part of the community and whether they are presently online.
By clicking on Forum, you can see all the available discussions. You can add to the discussion by clicking on the title of the discussion and adding your message or you can start a new discussion by clicking on "start new discussion".
By clicking on Groups, you can see all the groups which can have their own discussion running. Click the group title to join in on the discussion.
By clicking on Photos, you can see the community photo album. Add you photo by clicking on the link, Add Photo found on the upper right corner. All photos entered here will play on the main page in a photo slideshow for everyone to see.
