Okay everyone....lets see those beautiful babies! I know there are a few out there. We have had 4 born so far....all doing GREAT. One grullo colt, one dun filly, one red dun filly and one bay filly. So far most of the mares have gone over their due date 2-3 weeks. Guess they wanted to hold on to them a bit longer...
The first one, Cadence's colt is grullo. You can see the dark mask on his face. And on his legs, he is blue/gray. He will shed out a medium grullo.
I have found grullo can be born as two different types. Those born "dun" with peachy coloration body, darker mask, blue/gray legs and those born pale cream with a bluish hue. Both shed out to grullo.
Our Sarita was born the same way as this colt... and masqueraded as a "dun" for several months until her foal coat shed out. GhostDancer (my icon) was born a cream.
I've still have to add photos of Kiley's baby, she was our first born for 2008. She is a regular dun. I also have to add our newest baby born this morning, a dun filly from Kira and Dunsmuir. She is a long legged girl, definitely will mature to 15 hands or better.
